Carbon Black

Product Introduction

Carbon Black is primarily used in rubber products. The smaller the particle size of carbon black, the better its reinforcing properties; the higher the structure of carbon black, the higher its modulus and stress at a given elongation. Fine-particle, high-reinforcement grades are mainly used in tire treads to provide excellent wear resistance. Other parts of the tire, such as the sidewall, carcass ply, belt cushion, and inner liner, require rubber compounds with good flex-crack resistance, ozone resistance, resilience, and low heat buildup. These parts typically use semi-reinforcing furnace blacks with larger particle sizes (surface area below 40 m²/g).

Channel black for pigments is widely used in inks, coatings, and plastics. Medium-color channel black is mainly used in printing inks, especially news inks. In paint manufacturing, high-color channel black provides superior blackness and gloss for premium automotive finishes, while medium-color channel black is used in general industrial coatings. Additionally, medium-color channel black is often employed as a UV light stabilizer in polyolefins to enhance the weather resistance of plastic products. Rubber-grade channel black is mainly used in tires, particularly for off-road and industrial tire treads, providing high strength and excellent wear resistance.

Thermal black is primarily used in rubber products. Due to its large particle size and poor reinforcing properties, it is only used in applications requiring maximum filler loading, such as gaskets, hoses, sponge products, sealing rings, tire inner liners, bead compounds, and insulating materials.
